These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”, “Terms and Conditions”, or “Agreement”) govern your access to and use of Expenu, including the Expenu website, web application, mobile applications, APIs, software, features, subscriptions, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account, accessing, purchasing, or using Expenu, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Service.
1. About Expenu
Expenu is a financial organization and management platform designed to help individuals, families, and organizations record, organize, monitor, and understand income, expenses, transactions, budgets, accounts, requests, and related financial information.

2. Acceptance of These Terms
By using Expenu, you confirm that:
You have read these Terms.
You understand these Terms.
You agree to be legally bound by them.
You have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement.
You will comply with applicable laws and regulations.
You will provide accurate information when required.
You will not use Expenu for unlawful or unauthorized purposes.
If you use Expenu on behalf of a company, organization, family, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
3. Eligibility
You must meet the minimum legal age and contractual capacity required in your jurisdiction to create and operate an Expenu account independently.
If applicable law requires parental or guardian authorization for your use of certain services, you are responsible for obtaining that authorization.
Expenu may restrict or terminate accounts that do not satisfy applicable eligibility requirements.
4. Expenu Accounts
Certain features require you to create an account.
You are responsible for:
Providing accurate information.
Keeping your account information current.
Protecting your password and authentication credentials.
Protecting authentication devices and codes.
Maintaining control of your email address.
Reviewing account activity for unauthorized activity.
Immediately notifying Expenu if you believe your account has been compromised.
You must not:
Share your password with unauthorized persons.
Allow unauthorized persons to access your account.
Circumvent authentication controls.
Create accounts using false identities.
Impersonate another person or organization.
Create accounts for fraudulent purposes.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless the activity resulted from a security failure attributable to Expenu.
5. Account Security
Expenu uses technical and organizational security measures designed to protect accounts and information.
However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security practices, including:
Using a strong password.
Not reusing passwords where possible.
Keeping devices updated.
Protecting authentication codes.
Using secure networks.
Logging out from shared devices.
Reporting suspected unauthorized access.
If Expenu reasonably believes an account presents a security risk, we may temporarily restrict access while investigating.
6. Types of Expenu Workspaces
Expenu may support different workspace types, including:
Individual workspaces
Family workspaces
Office or business workspaces
The functionality and permissions available to you depend on your workspace, subscription, role, and applicable feature entitlements.
7. Workspace Ownership and Administration
Workspace owners and administrators may have authority to:
Manage workspace members.
Assign or change roles.
Configure permissions.
Control financial visibility.
Manage requests and approvals.
Manage workspace settings.
Access information according to applicable permissions.
If you join an organization, family, or office workspace, your access may be controlled by the workspace owner or administrator.
Expenu is not responsible for disputes between workspace members regarding ownership, permissions, financial information, or internal management unless required by applicable law.
8. User Roles and Permissions
Expenu may provide different roles, including owner, administrator, finance manager, employee, member, viewer, or other roles.
Permissions may determine whether a user can:
View transactions.
Create transactions.
Modify records.
View financial information.
Manage members.
Submit requests.
Approve requests.
Access reports.
Manage workspace settings.
You must not attempt to bypass or manipulate permission controls.
9. Financial Information
Expenu allows users to record and manage financial information.
You remain responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of information you enter or import.
Expenu does not independently verify every transaction or financial record entered by users.
You are responsible for:
Correct transaction amounts.
Correct dates.
Correct account information.
Correct categories.
Correct balances.
Correct financial records.
Reviewing calculations and reports before relying on them.
10. No Financial, Investment, Tax, Accounting or Legal Advice
Expenu is a software and financial-management tool.
Expenu does not provide:
Investment advice.
Securities advice.
Banking advice.
Tax advice.
Legal advice.
Professional accounting advice.
Financial planning advice.
Credit advice.
Guaranteed financial recommendations.
Information, reports, calculations, dashboards, insights, forecasts, categorizations, or recommendations generated by Expenu are provided for informational and organizational purposes.
You are responsible for obtaining professional advice where appropriate.
11. AI Features
Expenu may provide AI-powered features.
AI functionality may be used for purposes such as:
Financial summaries.
Categorization.
Insights.
Transaction analysis.
Natural-language assistance.
Recommendations.
Productivity features.
AI-generated information may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, or incorrect interpretations.
You should independently verify important information before making financial, business, tax, legal, investment, or other significant decisions.
You must not treat AI output as professional advice.
Expenu does not guarantee that AI-generated results will be accurate, complete, suitable, or error-free.
12. User Content
“User Content” means information, text, financial records, documents, images, files, data, comments, or other material that you submit to Expenu.
You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to the rights necessary for Expenu to operate the Service.
You grant Expenu a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use your User Content solely as reasonably necessary to:
Provide the Service.
Operate requested functionality.
Maintain security.
Perform backups.
Provide support.
Process transactions.
Generate requested reports.
Perform requested AI functionality.
Comply with legal obligations.
Enforce these Terms.
Expenu does not obtain ownership of your financial records merely because you store them in Expenu.

Is lawfully obtained.
Does not infringe third-party rights.
Does not contain malicious software.
Does not violate applicable laws.
Does not violate these Terms.
You must not upload information that you are prohibited from possessing, processing, or sharing.
14. Financial Imports
Expenu may support importing financial information from supported formats and sources.
Imported data may require review because:
Financial institutions may use different formats.
Data may contain missing information.
Dates may be interpreted differently.
Transactions may be duplicated.
Categories may be incorrect.
Currency information may be incomplete.
Statements may contain formatting inconsistencies.
You are responsible for reviewing imported information before relying upon it.
15. Transactions and Records
Expenu may calculate or display:
Income.
Expenses.
Balances.
Net flow.
Reports.
Ratios.
Budgets.
Financial summaries.
Other derived information.
Calculated values may depend on the data available to Expenu and the configuration of your workspace.
You should verify important financial information against your original financial records.
16. Attachments and Documents
Expenu may allow you to upload receipts, invoices, statements, documents, images, and other files.
You represent that you have the right to upload and process such files.
You must not upload:
Malware.
Viruses.
Malicious scripts.
Illegal material.
Material you do not have permission to use.
Content intended to compromise the Service.
Expenu may reject files that fail security or technical validation.
17. Intellectual Property
Expenu and its underlying technology are owned by or licensed to 9VN Communication Pvt Ltd and its licensors.
The Service may include:
Software.
Source code.
Interfaces.
Designs.
Logos.
Trademarks.
Graphics.
Documentation.
Text.
Databases.
APIs.
Proprietary systems.
Except for rights expressly granted under these Terms, no ownership rights are transferred to you.
18. Expenu Trademark and Brand
“Expenu” and associated logos, names, marks, and branding are owned by or licensed to 9VN Communication Pvt Ltd.
You may not use Expenu branding in a manner that:
Suggests endorsement.
Suggests sponsorship.
Creates confusion about affiliation.
Misrepresents a relationship with Expenu.
Any permitted use must comply with applicable brand guidelines.
19. License to Use Expenu
Subject to these Terms, Expenu grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Service for its intended purposes.
You may not:
Copy the Service.
Resell the Service unless expressly authorized.
Rent or lease the Service.
Reverse engineer the Service except where prohibited by law.
Decompile software except where legally permitted.
Attempt to extract source code.
Circumvent technical restrictions.
Create unauthorized derivative services.
Scrape the Service at scale.
Use automated systems to abuse the Service.
20. Acceptable Use
You must use Expenu lawfully and responsibly.
You must not use Expenu to:
Commit fraud.
Launder money.
Facilitate illegal transactions.
Conduct unauthorized financial activity.
Store malicious content.
Distribute malware.
Attack infrastructure.
Attempt unauthorized access.
Circumvent security controls.
Abuse APIs.
Perform denial-of-service attacks.
Conduct credential attacks.
Harvest personal information without authorization.
Impersonate others.
Violate intellectual-property rights.
Violate privacy rights.
Facilitate unlawful activities.
Additional rules may be provided in an Acceptable Use Policy.
21. API Use
Where Expenu provides API access, API use may be subject to:
Authentication requirements.
Rate limits.
Usage limits.
Documentation.
Separate API terms.
Subscription entitlements.
You must not attempt to bypass API limits or security controls.
Expenu may suspend API access when necessary to protect the Service.
22. Third-Party Integrations
Expenu may integrate with third-party services.

Payments.
Email.
Messaging.
AI.
Cloud infrastructure.
Financial data.
Authentication.
Analytics.
Third-party services may have separate terms and privacy policies.
Expenu is not responsible for third-party services that it does not control.

23. Payments
Paid features may require payment through supported payment providers.
Prices, billing intervals, taxes, discounts, promotional offers, and payment methods will be displayed where applicable.
You authorize the applicable payment provider to process payments according to the payment method you select.
Payment processing may be subject to the payment provider’s own terms.
24. Subscriptions

Your subscription may determine:

Workspace capabilities.
Storage limits.
User/member limits.
AI availability.
Other entitlements.
Expenu may change plans or introduce new plans subject to applicable law and any commitments already made to you.
25. Free Plans
Expenu may provide free plans or features.
Free functionality may have limitations.
Expenu may change or discontinue free functionality subject to applicable law.
A free plan does not necessarily include all features available in paid plans.
26. Trials and Promotional Offers
Expenu may offer trials, promotional pricing, discounts, credits, or other incentives.
Additional conditions may apply.
Unless otherwise stated:
A promotion may be limited to eligible users.
Promotions may not be combined.
Promotional periods may have expiration dates.
Promotional benefits may not be transferable.
Expenu may correct obvious pricing or promotional errors.
27. Billing
You are responsible for providing accurate billing information.
You authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the applicable amount when due.
If payment fails, Expenu may:
Retry payment.
Notify you.
Restrict paid functionality.
Suspend the subscription.
Cancel the subscription according to applicable billing rules.
Specific billing and cancellation rules may be provided in the Subscription & Billing Policy.
28. Refunds
Refund eligibility is governed by Expenu’s applicable Refund & Cancellation Policy and applicable law.
Unless otherwise required by law, payment does not automatically create a right to a refund merely because you did not use the Service during a billing period.
Certain transactions may be non-refundable where permitted by law.
29. Taxes
You are responsible for applicable taxes associated with your purchase or use of Expenu unless Expenu is legally required to collect and remit them.
Applicable taxes may be added to prices where required.
30. Changes to Pricing
Expenu may modify pricing, packages, plans, features, or limits.
Where required, we will provide notice of material changes.
Changes generally will not retroactively alter a completed billing transaction unless permitted or required by law.
31. Service Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service, but Expenu is not guaranteed to be available continuously or without interruption.
The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of:
Maintenance.
Upgrades.
Security incidents.
Infrastructure failures.
Third-party failures.
Internet outages.
Force majeure events.
Emergency maintenance.
Technical issues.
We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance when necessary.
32. Beta and Experimental Features
Some Expenu features may be identified as:

Such features may change, become unavailable, or contain errors.
Unless otherwise stated, experimental features are provided without guarantees regarding availability or functionality.
33. Data Backups
Expenu may maintain backups for operational, security, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity purposes.
Backups are not intended to replace your responsibility to maintain appropriate copies of information that you consider important.
You should maintain independent copies of critical financial records where appropriate.
34. Account Suspension
Expenu may temporarily suspend or restrict an account when reasonably necessary to:
Protect the Service.
Investigate suspected abuse.
Prevent unauthorized access.
Address security risks.
Investigate fraud.
Comply with legal requirements.
Address violations of these Terms.
Prevent harm to users or third parties.
Where reasonably possible, Expenu may provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
35. Account Termination by You
You may stop using Expenu at any time.
Where account deletion functionality is available, you may use it according to the applicable process.
You may also contact support for account-related requests.
Termination does not automatically eliminate obligations that by their nature should survive termination.
36. Termination by Expenu
Expenu may terminate or suspend access where:
You materially violate these Terms.
You engage in unlawful activity.
You abuse the Service.
You compromise security.
You fail to pay amounts due.
Continued access creates material risk.
We are legally required to do so.
The Service is discontinued.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate notice.
37. Effect of Termination
After termination:

Subscription functionality may stop.
Workspace access may be removed.
Certain information may be deleted according to applicable retention rules.
Some records may be retained where legally required.
Backup copies may remain temporarily.
Sections that are intended to survive termination will remain effective.

Where Expenu provides export functionality, you may export supported information subject to available formats and feature limitations.
Export functionality may not reproduce every internal system record, audit record, derived calculation, or technical metadata.
You should export important information before terminating an account where appropriate.

Your use of Expenu is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms by reference.
40. Confidentiality
Expenu will handle your information according to its Privacy Policy and applicable contractual obligations.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of information belonging to other users or workspace members that you access through Expenu.
You must not disclose confidential workspace information without authorization.
41. User Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, recommendations, bug reports, or other feedback about Expenu, you grant Expenu permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, provided that such use does not disclose your confidential personal information contrary to applicable law.
42. Third-Party Intellectual Property
You must respect third-party intellectual-property rights.
If you upload content that belongs to another person or organization, you must have the necessary rights or authorization.
Expenu may remove content or restrict access where we receive a valid intellectual-property complaint or are legally required to act.
43. Copyright Complaints
If you believe content available through Expenu infringes your copyright, you may contact us with sufficient information to identify:
The copyrighted work.
The allegedly infringing material.
Your contact information.
Your relationship to the rights holder.
The basis of your claim.
We may investigate and take appropriate action.
44. Security Vulnerabilities
If you discover a potential security vulnerability in Expenu, please report it responsibly to:
You must not:
Access another user’s data.
Destroy data.
Disrupt production services.
Perform denial-of-service testing.
Exploit a vulnerability for personal benefit.
Publicly disclose sensitive vulnerability details before allowing reasonable time for investigation.
45. Prohibited Automated Access
You must not use bots, crawlers, scripts, scraping tools, or automated systems to access Expenu in a way that:
Places unreasonable load on the Service.
Circumvents access controls.
Extracts protected information.
Violates rate limits.
Interferes with normal operation.
Authorized API usage is permitted only according to applicable API terms and limits.
46. No Resale Without Authorization
You may not resell, sublicense, lease, rent, distribute, or commercially exploit access to Expenu unless you have a separate written agreement with Expenu permitting such activity.
47. No Guaranteed Financial Results
Expenu does not guarantee:
Savings.
Investment returns.
Financial improvements.
Debt reduction.
Budget compliance.
Business profitability.
Financial accuracy resulting from user-entered data.
Any particular financial outcome.
Expenu is a management and organization tool.
48. No Banking Relationship
Unless explicitly stated for a particular regulated service, using Expenu does not create:
A bank account.
A deposit relationship.
A lending relationship.
An investment relationship.
A fiduciary relationship.
Expenu does not hold customer funds merely because you record financial information in the Service.
49. Accuracy and Availability of Information
We aim to provide accurate information and reliable functionality, but we do not guarantee that:
Every calculation will always be error-free.
Imported information will always be accurate.
Third-party data will always be available.
AI output will always be correct.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 9VN Communication Pvt Ltd and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of Expenu.

Revenue.
Business opportunities.
Data.
Goodwill.
Expected savings.
Business interruption.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
52. Financial Data Responsibility
You acknowledge that financial information is important and that software can contain errors.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate independent records of important financial information and for verifying information before using it for significant decisions.
53. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless 9VN Communication Pvt Ltd and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from:
Your violation of these Terms.
Your unlawful use of Expenu.
Your User Content.
Your infringement of third-party rights.
Your unauthorized access or misuse of the Service.
Your violation of applicable law.
This obligation does not apply to the extent caused by Expenu’s own unlawful conduct or other circumstances where applicable law prohibits such indemnification.
54. Force Majeure
Expenu will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including:
Natural disasters.
War.
Terrorism.
Government actions.
Internet failures.
Telecommunications failures.
Cloud infrastructure failures.
Power failures.
Cyberattacks by third parties.
Epidemics or pandemics.
Labor disputes.
Other events beyond reasonable control.

Modify interfaces.

58. Dispute Resolution
We encourage users to contact Expenu first to attempt to resolve disputes informally.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be subject to the courts and dispute-resolution mechanisms having appropriate jurisdiction under applicable law.
Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

Subject to mandatory rights under applicable law, disputes relating to these Terms or the Service may be brought before the competent courts having jurisdiction over the applicable dispute and the parties.
60. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable where legally possible.
The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
61. No Waiver
Failure by Expenu to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it later.

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
Expenu may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction.

These Terms, together with documents incorporated by reference, including applicable:

constitute the agreement between you and Expenu regarding the Service.

Billing.
Subscriptions.
Support.
Legal notices.
Policy changes.
Service announcements.
Electronic communications may satisfy legal requirements for written communications where permitted by applicable law.
